Abstract

Purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Indigenous-Local play and selective motor interventions on the Self-esteem of obese girls in pre-school ages in Tehran. 30 obese girls were selected in a targeted way and divided into control groups, selective motion interventions and local native games. World Health Organization charts for obesity and Cooper-Smith questioner for Self-esteem were used. Experimental groups practiced two sessions in week and per session one hour for nine weeks. The results of covariance analysis and LSD showed. Intervention in experimental groups had a significant effect on the Self-esteem compared to the control group. But compared to each other, the difference was not significant. Local native games and selective motor interventions be effective in reducing obesity problem as self-esteem. This confirms the role of physical activity; it is about reducing the problems of obese people. Of course, to find the best practice, it's best to compare different interventions.
