The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of motivational factors of volunteers on satisfaction, attitudes, and support from a sport event
This is an applied study and research method was descriptive-survey. Statistical population included all volunteers in thirteenth sport-cultural Olympiad of students universities (N=200). Using Morgan table and through random sampling, 128 volunteers were selected. A translated questionnaire Lee et al (2014) was used for data collection. The face validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by 10 experts. Also its reliability was calculated by using Cronbach's alpha and composite reliability. To analyze data and investigating model fit, structural equation modeling and PLS software were used.
Results showed that intrinsic motivation and altruism had significant effect on student satisfaction but the effect of extrinsic motivation and patriotism to the university on satisfaction wasn’t significant. Also satisfaction has significant and direct effect on attitudes to voluntariness but don’t have a significant effect on the attitude to the place. As well as the results showed that attitude to volunteer had significant and direct effect on attitude to place but don’t have significant effect on support of place. And effect of attitude to place on support of place was significant.
According to continuum, effect of Motivational factors - satisfaction - attitude to volunteers, support of place, it seems psychological factors with reference of internal perception have a crucial effect on participation of student. Therefore, it is recommended that in volunteering system and method of supervising volunteers, internal factors should take priority.
