Abstract

Introduction & Purpose:: The aim of this study, was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of aerobic interval training and jujube extract on vascular endothelial growth factor in heart tissue of male Wistar rats with myocardial infarction.
Methodology: The method of this study is experimental. Sixty male Wistar rats, aged 2-3 months, weighing 230 to 180 g were purchased for testing in this study. Of these, 34 individuals were selected as the sample and divided into 5 groups (interval training + infarct, interval training + infarct + jujube extract, healthy control, infarct control, and infarct + jujube extract group). They then induced to cardiac ischemia. The amount of exercise in this study was 8 weeks of interval training with 5 interval 4 min with intensity of 15 m / min. After 8 weeks, the tissues of these mice were perfused. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's post hoc tests were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Also among the experimental groups, the results of this study showed that the combined exercise and supplementation group had the best results in increasing the vascular endothelial variable.
Conclusion: Overall, the results showed that the effect of the combined exercise and supplementation group was greater than the exercise and supplement alone conditions.
