The Effect of 8 Weeks of core stability and core stability_mindfulness exercises on the Balance of Older Women in Nursing Centers of Kermanshah

Abstract

Introduction &Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks Core‌‌‌stability and corestability_mindfulness exercises on balance performance In female older adults in nursing Centers of Kermanshah.
Methodology: Was a semi experimental study, With pre-test, post-test design and control group. After selecting the center randomly, 30elderly women between eligible volunteers, randomly selected and divided to experimental-groups1,2 & control-group. Experimental group1 performed corestability_mindfulness exercise, experimental group2 performed corestability exercise, also control group continued their usual daily life. In pre-test, static balance was measured using Sharpenedromberg test and dynamic equilibrium using berg test. Experimental group1 and2, for 8weeks and 3weekly sessions each 45minutes, received their special exercises. Then the post-test was conducted with the same pre-test procedure. Data analysis was performed using Paired t-test, One-way analysis of variance and Scheffe Post Hoc.
Results: The findings showed that performance of the experimental group1 and2 have been significantly improved from pre-test to post-test. The difference between groups was significant in comparison between groups; the results of scheffe posthoc test showed that the experimental group1 compared with control group had a significant different. But there was no significant difference between other groups.
Conclusion:The results show that combining core stability physical exercises with mindfulness exercises can be beneficial for the balance of femahe older adults.
