Abstract

Background: Forward shoulder posture, defined as a sagital-plane or transverse plane scapular resting position change. forward shoulder posture was negative impact on pulmonary indexes. In present research, the effect of pectoralis minor length change over the shoulder girdle and pulmonary function in forward shoulder of girls are studying.
Methods: Sample consisted of 10 girl in two groups with forward shoulder and natural posture, with a mean age of 10-12 years screening and were selected randomly. After completing consent form, in pre and post training, forward shoulder posture with a double square, pectoralis minor muscle length with tape and slow and pressure vital capacity with a spirometer machine were assessed. Also to assess the flexibility of the shoulder girdle flexors and thoracic and abdominal muscles performed tests in order to lift your hands and open the trunk from the ground in the prone position was used. Subjects grouped according to the forward shoulder posture, then the experimental group perform corrective protocol 18 session .
Results: t couple results showed significant correction in the experimental group in the forward shoulder deformity ( p=0/008 ), increase the pectoralis minor muscle length( p=0/024 ), increases flexibility shoulder flexors( p=0/008 ) and thoracic - abdominal muscles( p=0/009 ), 6 percent increase in SVC and 4.6 percent in FVC ( p=0/02 ). In the training period, the experimental group has been progress and control group not progress.
Conclusion: The results showed that perform selective corrective practices result in improve the forward shoulder, flexibility of the shoulder flexor and pectoral - abdominal muscles and pectoralis minor length in girls. provided stretch- strength exercises with correction of this deformity are significant positive impact on the SVC, MVV and FVC in subjects.
