Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze antisocial behavior in Iranian male futsal players. The present research is applied in terms of purpose and is a mixed qualitative-quantitative study. It adopts a data-driven approach. The qualitative research population consisted of managers, coaches, and experienced athletes in professional sports activities, who were purposefully and snowball-sampled, resulting in theoretical saturation after interviews with 25 individuals. The quantitative research population included all professors, managers, coaches, and athletes in professional sports activities at the national level, with 385 individuals selected as a stratified random sample. The qualitative research tool was semi-structured interviews with research experts, and for the validity and reliability of the research, the acceptability, transferability, and confirmability method was used. The quantitative research tool was a questionnaire extracted from the qualitative research, and data analysis was conducted using MAXQDA 2020 in the qualitative section and PLS 3 in the quantitative section. Antisocial behaviors in professional sports in Iran encompass the reasons for the emergence of antisocial behaviors, the methods of antisocial behavior occurrence, intervention factors in antisocial behaviors, solutions to reduce antisocial behaviors, and the consequences of antisocial behaviors. Furthermore, the output model in the quantitative research section was deemed acceptable. Each behavior has consequences, and young people are influenced by media-influenced culture. Ethics is considered an obstacle to progress in professional environments. Therefore, the lack of attention by sports authorities to ethical challenges among athletes hinders society from progressing in terms of behavior and ethics.
