Prediction of organizational exellence in the ministry of sports and youth by staff structural and psychological empowerment

Abstract

Background & Purpose: The purpose of this study was to predict the organizational exellence in the ministry of sports and youth by staff structural and psychological empowerment. Materials & Methods: 265 peoples were randomly selected from employees of this ministry. The EFQM organizational exellence, Bae & Lawler structural empowerment and Spreitzer psychological empowerment questionnaires were used for collecting data. Data analysis was don using single-sample t-test, multiple linear regression and structural equation modeling in SPSS and LISREL. Results: According the results, level of " structural empowerment", "psychological empowerment" and "organizational exellence" were assessed as "poor", "average" and "average", respectively. Also, the results showed that structural empowerment significantly explained, the changes in psychological empowerment (51%) and organizational excellence (67%), and psychological empowerment significantly explained, the changes in organizational excellence (68%, P=0.000). Conclusion: The results of current study indicate that staff structural and psychological empowerment is effective on organizational excellence of ministry of sport and youth. Thus, applying the managerial practices for staff empowerment, is recommended for growth and excellence of this ministry.
