The Effectiveness of Emotion Regulation Strategies Training on Anger Control and Impulsivity Decrease of Adolescents With Conduct Disorder

Abstract

Introduction & Purpose : This study was to determine the effectiveness of emotion regula-tion strategies training on control anger and impulsivity decreas of adolescents correctional center in Khorramabad city.
Methodology: The research method is pretest- posttest- follow up whit a control group. The sample consisted of 30 men adolescents with conduct disorder in khorramabad correction cen-ter who were selected by convenience sampling and randomly assigned to control and exper-imental groups. The experimental group received the gross model emotion regulation strate-gies for ten sessions, while the control group did not receive any intervention until the end of the project. The data were collected from the barratt impulsivity scale and spielberger anger inventory and for analysis, multivariate analysis of covariance was used.
Results : The results showed that emotion regulation strategies training controlled anger and decreased impulsivity in the experimental group.
Conclusion : The emotion regulation strategies training is usful applied practice in treatment of conduct disorder.
