The purpose of this research was to design a model for the development of competencies affecting the job performance of Iraqi volleyball coaches. The statistical population of this research is all the active Iraqi volleyball coaches, and according to the statistics provided by the Iraqi Volleyball Federation, their number is 91 (men and women). To collect information, two competency questionnaires (Mohammadi, 2015) and job performance (Rohani et al., 2015) were used. The validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by sports management specialists and the reliability was confirmed by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient. SPSS and AMOS software were used for data analysis at the error level of 0.05. The t-test showed that the average opinion of the respondents regarding the status of effective competencies and job performance is greater than the hypothetical average of 3. It can be said that the effective competencies and job performance of Iraqi volleyball coaches are favorable. Structural equation modeling showed that the components are proportional to their corresponding dimensions and explains the concept of each dimension well. The relationship of each component with its dimension is statistically confirmed, while the significance level is less than 0.001. Based on the results, the path coefficient of competencies effective on the job performance of Iraqi volleyball coaches is equal to 0.75, which is a positive value and the existence of a significant and positive effect of effective competencies on job performance is confirmed, and it can be said that competencies are effective on performance.
