Guide for Authors

Article Submission Types

  1. Articles can be submitted as: Original Research, Review Article, Brief Report, Case Report, Letter to the Editor, Case Series, or Research Letter.
  2. Structure of Original Articles: Research articles must include Title, Persian and English Abstracts (each max. 250 words), Persian and English Keywords (3-5 words), Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (if needed), and References (with tables and figures).

Abstract Requirements

  1. Persian and English Abstracts: Maximum 250 words each.
  2. Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords, based on MeSH terms.

Main Sections

  1. Introduction: Provide a brief scientific background, state the article's objective, and outline the research rationale or observation concisely. Cite only highly relevant references. Do not report data or conclusions.
  2. Methodology: Clearly describe the study population and sampling method (patients or lab animals), including control groups. Specify age, gender, and other key characteristics. Detail statistical methods fully for reproducibility, mentioning software used (but not solely). Indicate tests per variable and use mean, median, standard deviation, and confidence intervals.
  3. Results (Findings): Present logically in text, tables, charts, and figures. For analytical/clinical trials, first compare control vs. experimental groups, then research data. Do not repeat table/chart data in text or include methods, discussion, or conclusions.
  4. Discussion: Start with key findings answering research questions. Emphasize novel aspects and implications. Avoid repeating introduction/results. Interpret findings, limitations, reasons for differences with others, and propose new hypotheses if needed at the end.
  5. Acknowledgments: On a separate page, thank individuals/institutions.
  6. Article Submission Letter: Submit originality statement, no prior/other submissions, and all-authors approval in a separate letter (template on journal site).

Submission Process

  1. Submission: Upload via http://www.jmbs.ir under "Submit Article." Only electronic system accepted. Include signed Covering Letter by all authors (no post-submit author changes).
  2. Conflicts of Interest: Multicenter studies need researcher agreements; industry-funded need agreement details (editor decides).
