The effectiveness of group therapy based on acceptance and commitment on improving the self-esteem of female students who have experienced emotional failure of the University of Sistan and Baluchistan

Abstract
Due to the fact that people who have experienced emotional failure are exposed to guilt and sadness, disturbing thoughts, insomnia, and feelings of anger towards themselves and others, and the possibility of all kinds of negative physical and psychological responses, including anxiety, depression, and psychopathology. , loneliness, immunosuppression, fatal and non-fatal physical illnesses or accidents, and reduced life expectancy by sudden death by suicide or homicide. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of group therapy based on acceptance and commitment on improving the self-esteem of female students who experienced emotional failure of Sistan and Baluchistan University.

The current research design was a semi-experimental type of pre-test - post-test and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of this research was the female students of Sistan and Baluchistan University, and among them, 24 people obtained low grades in self-esteem. They were selected by purposeful sampling method and were randomly divided into two groups (experimental 12 people and control 12 people). .

The results showed that the therapy group based on acceptance and commitment is effective in promoting self-esteem in female students who have experienced emotional failure (p<0.05). And in the follow-up stage, it is not significant only in the dimension of positive cognitive regulation (p<0.05).
