Introduction and Objective: Today, due to the interference of mechanical devices in daily life, people use their musculoskeletal system less. The purpose of the present study is to compare the scores of the 9+ functional test in athletic women and non-athletic women.
Research Method: The research method is causal-comparative and applied in terms of purpose. The sample size was selected based on the available population, 10 athletes and 10 non-athletes. The average height and weight of the groups were taken. Non-parametric Mann-Whitney statistical methods were used to compare the two groups at the p≤0.05 level.
Results: The results showed that the mean rank in the subtests of step over obstacles, swimming with core stability in the athlete group was higher and different than in the non-athlete group, but this difference was not significant (P=0.001). However, in the shoulder mobility test, squat, rotational stability, and overall performance score, the athlete group showed a higher mean rank than in the non-athlete group, and this difference was significant (P=0.001).
Conclusion: These results showed that non-athletic women showed poor movement patterns in shoulder mobility, squat, and rotational stability tests and overall performance scores. If they participate in sports activities, assuming that the FMS test predicts sports injuries, it is more likely that women who do not train will be injured more.
