Introduction and Purpose: Wrestling is a physically demanding sport that induces significant fatigue, which can impair performance and increase injury risk. Proper training planning combined with effective recovery strategies is essential to manage fatigue and enhance athletic performance. This study aimed to investigate the impact of structured training programs and recovery protocols on fatigue reduction and performance improvement in wrestlers.
Methodology: A quasi-experimental design was employed involving competitive wrestlers who underwent an eight-week intervention. Participants followed a periodized training program combined with recovery strategies including nutritional support, active rest, and physiotherapy modalities. Fatigue levels were assessed using subjective scales and biochemical markers, while performance was evaluated through sport-specific tests pre- and post-intervention. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods.
Results: The results demonstrated a significant reduction in perceived fatigue and biochemical indicators of muscle damage following the intervention. Moreover, performance measures such as strength, endurance, and technical skills improved significantly compared to baseline. The combined effect of planned training and recovery strategies was more effective than training alone.
Conclusion: Structured training planning alongside targeted recovery strategies effectively reduces fatigue and enhances performance in wrestlers. Implementing such integrated approaches is recommended to optimize training outcomes and minimize injury risk in high-intensity sports like wrestling.
