Increased insulin resistance is common in patients with multiple sclerosis and is known as a risk factor for diabetes. On the other hand, impairment in physical fitness factors reduces the quality of life of these patients. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of 8 weeks of yoga exercises and vitamin D intake on insulin resistance and balance, coordination, and strength in women with multiple sclerosis. In this applied and quasi-experimental study, 32 volunteers who met the research criteria were selected from 120 people referred to the Dezful Multiple Sclerosis Association. With a pre-test and post-test design, 32 women with multiple sclerosis were selected using purposive sampling and randomly and homogeneously placed in 4 groups of 8 people (yoga, vitamin D, yoga and vitamin D, control). Before and after the start of the blood collection intervention, the stork balance test, consecutive volleyball throw, and Sergeant jump were taken from the subjects. The yoga protocol was performed for eight weeks, three times a week, with sessions starting at 20 minutes and gradually increasing to one hour. All statistical analyses and graphing were performed using SPSS version 22 software.8 weeks of yoga and vitamin D intake had a significant effect on glycosylated hemoglobin levels, fasting blood sugar, blood insulin levels, insulin-glucose ratio index, quantitative insulin sensitivity index, balance, coordination, and strength in women with multiple sclerosis. The results of the study showed that eight weeks of yoga and vitamin D intake improved insulin resistance indices and physical fitness factors.
