The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of virtual reality based games on children's fundamental motor skills. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design. A number of 40 primary school boys were selected through available sampling and randomly placed in two experimental groups of virtual reality-based games and control. The tools used in this research were Bruininks-Oseretsky motor proficiency test, second edition and Xbox 360 Kinect device. At first, the participants performed the Bruininks-Oseretsky skills pre-test, 2nd edition. The group of virtual reality games practiced for 8 weeks, 2 times a week and 30 minutes each session. At the end of the training sessions, the post-test of Bruininks-Oseretsky skills, version 2, was administered. The results showed that the group of games based on virtual reality had a significant effect on the development of fundamental motor skills, and they created a significant improvement in both gross and fine motor skill areas. Therefore, based on the findings of this research, due to the high importance of fundamental motor skills in the multiple development of children, it is possible to use games based on separate reality to improve motor development.
